Help managing Temporary Works.
Red Fox Construction & Contracting provides a Temporary Works Advisor service to help contractors manage the safe and efficient implementation of temporary works on their construction projects.
Straight from the mouth of the Health and Safety Executive (SIM 02/2010/04):
"Temporary works management arrangements suitable for small contractors
For smaller contractors, the principles of BS5975 should be in place if not the formal and specific procedures, in particular:
- ensuring a suitably competent temporary works designer/adviser is in place to supply an engineered solution,
- adequate information flow,
- design checking to an appropriate level,
- suitable verification of correct erection of the temporary works and someone overseeing and co-ordinating the whole process.
Smaller contractors may not have anyone sufficiently experienced to plan effectively all but the most simple temporary works. There should be clear evidence that appropriate external expertise has been engaged."
This is ambiguous. When it comes to dealing with Health and Safety, ambiguity is not a good thing!
Our Temporary Works Advisor service has been specifically designed with smaller contractors in mind; making comprehensive temporary works management accessible, affordable and achievable.
Ideally suited to small and medium sized construction projects, where there is not necessarily the need for a full time Temporary Works Coordinator.
Your Temporary Works Advisor will:
- Visit your site once per month to carry out independent checks on how temporary works are being planned, designed, implemented, inspected and permitted.
- Advise your team on the safe use of temporary works and provide external, independent checks on the management process.
- Produce an audit report and provide feedback to your project team, helping to maintain compliance with BS5975, the HSE's guidance and your company Temporary Works Procedure.
- Support your key project personnel and be the main point of contact via phone and email for advice and guidance on temporary works.
Our Temporary Works Advisor service is set up on a flexible, rolling monthly contract for a low and affordable cost.
Significantly reducing the financial burden of having to employ a full time Temporary Works Coordinator, or the time burden of expecting one of your senior team members to wear yet another hat!
